Big -- potentially dangerous -- tech problem. HELP! 850 1994

Volvo owners. I have a 1994 Volvo 850 station wagon with about 61,000 miles.I have a big problem that no one

seems to be able to solve. The car loses power suddenly and for no apparent reason. Weeks ago it died while

going 55 on the freeway, just closed down. Needless to say I was terrified. My Volvo dealer-service department in

Santa Monica (California) had it for three weeks (I have also been in touch with Volvo national customer service folks who worked with my dealer) and finally

came up with what they thought was the problem: a wire, which they said they fixed (it's not the fuel pump by the way). Three days after getting my car

back it started dying again. I have a daughter and transport lots of children.I have to get to the root of this before

someone is hurt. Any Volvo owners or mechanics out there have similar problem? More than that, does anyone

know what it could be? I welcome and need some help desperatly. Many Thanks.
