Compression test on 98 V70/XC V70-XC70 1998

Attempting to help a friend on his V70XC, I'm a die hard RWD guy so this is new territory for me.
He had the check engine light come on and got a #2 cylinder code. A new coil didn't help and thats when he called me. We took a compression test and it read 45-0-190-80-70. He is not a motor head and he doesn't recall any significant events like overheating or just running very badly. No sign of coolant in the oil or vice versa.
With this drastic of a compression check I'm thinking head gasket, what else could it be?
Tomorrow (Wed) night I plan to do a leakdown test, on a car with no distributor how do I turn it over by hand and know when each cylinder is at TDC to test?
