Radiator Fan Stuck ON S60

My son's 2002 S60 non-turbo radiator fan is stuck on and killed the battery. Disconected the power conector to stop the fan. Any idea what to look for?
I check europarts.com and see there is a Coolant Temp Sensor (IAT Sensor). If thats it where is it located and how can I test it. Guage on the dash seems to work fine.
