P80/70-Series - No Brakelights?! 1998

1998 C70 230k

At a stop sign a skezzy chick shouted something at me about my brakelights.

I checked them at my destination... nothing. Neither the corner lights, nor the 3rd light are lighting up. My brakelight-out warning light on the dash is also dark. No idea how long it's been like this.

The only thing that comes to mind is the switch on the pedal might be physically or electrically stuck closed. I've never heard about one of these things failing, but it's extremely concerning.

Any ideas aside from the switch?

Thanks as always
