Hood protection S70 00

The paint on this car is by far the easiest chipping paint I have ever seen. What is one to do to prevent or delay this process? I keep a heavy coat of wax on it. Does anyone make one of those plastic bug/stone deflectors for the front? Do they work? Better yet, one that can be put on easily occasionally for highway trips? I'm not really keen on the bras or 3M film (ok, I might consider the film). If it keeps up at this rate a new paint job will be needed in a year to keep it looking decent.

Thanks.
