seat heater repair 850 1993

I have taken the bottom driver cushion upholstery off in order to find out why the seat heater stopped working. Before I did this I checked the wiring below the seat to make sure no wires had broken, and none had.

When I took the upholstery off I found that the foam was scorched/melted and that the heater pad was torn/melted.Obviosly I need a new heater pad for the bottom cushion.

My question is : I expect that the round metal disc under the heater pad is the thermostat.Would I be wise to replace that as well?

Thanks in advance for any help and thanks to Bay 13 for info on how to fix the seat back motor.
