Thanks - seems to be actuator

Thanks everyone for your replies and I was not trying to be insulting sorry if it came across that way.

Anyhoo, I've run into a passel of issues with the XC so that items like this have fallen to the bottom of priority list for the moment. Mostly fluid leaks, see other posts...

It seems to be the "actuator" from all the posts I've read and Klaus's response above. About $140 new. Seems like a risk to buy a used one to me for all the labor time of installing it.

The Evil Red Lever or some such thing. Buncha BS. There are many posts and tutorials about this on some of these other sites.
