Stutter and Stalled on Road. Restarts, but dies - Any Ideas? S70 1998

Okay, this is really a C70, but same different with mechanicals.

1998 C70 B5234T3 w/ 233k.

Wife was driving in town in the car, she says it stuttered a bit and died. She pulled off an parked and attempted to restart. It started briefly and died quickly.

I had it towed home and it does the same for me. if it sits for a little bit, it will crank and start and run for a few seconds before it dies.

I checked the codes and found it has a P0455 Evap System Leak (Large). I'm not sure if this is related to the problem. I replaced the J-hose to a year or so ago. About a week ago, my wife lost the gas cap and it threw a CEL until she picked up a replacement. The missing cap did not impact the running condition. I can't imagine that an emission system problem would kill the engine like this.

My thinking is that there's a dead sensor of some sort - perhaps something related the fuel flow.

The need to fix the car is pretty urgent. I have to have it back on the road by Tuesday.
