Loss of electrical 850 1997

I noticed my volvo would cut out every so often not long enough to even shut down the engine. It was very sporadic but today it stopped completely. Everything comes on but the engine will not turn over. A few times before when this happened you have to hold the key in the start position for few seconds and it would start but today nothing. After about ten minutes it started again and I was able to get home. ALso I have ot reset the radio if that means anything. Any ideas on what this may be?
