Loss of electrical 850 1997

First thing to check is battery terminals and ground connections. For a few years the battery cables would come apart too. Check that all the end fittings are still fastened to the cables. A bad connection will be intermittent, possibly supporting low draw like the accessory lights, but not the real amperage you need to start the car.
