Updated Knock Sensor Kit? 850 1996

1996 Volvo 850 Turbo Sedan: I am hoping anybody has detailed information about this/ran into this issue before. I purchased the knock sensor kit from FCPEuro and found the Service Bulletin Instructions online, but it doesn't mention the colors of the wires. I guess my bottom line question is: if I wired them wrong and connector #1 is reading from knock sensor #2, would this throw a Check Engine Light? More importantly, do you think it is enough to mess the engine up?

When the car was running with the updated knock sensor kit there was never a CEL, so this led me to believe I did it correctly. I just guessed since the colors don't match up exactly, one of the connectors has orange and the other purple (each connector has a positive and negative lead, same color wires but with the black stripe down them). On the new harness one is pink and the other is purple. So I just matched purple to purple and that's how it stands today.

I am currently undergoing an engine swap since my cylinder #2 blew up shortly after this repair (several other factors as well). I don't think that this is related, but it is one item I want to rule out since undergoing this massive engine swap project.

Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.
