Transmission lock S40-V40

There is no way to get ALL of the fluid out of an automatic tranny. Your best bet is to dump cold fluid (car sat over night) using the drain plug. Measure the drained fluid and pour the same amount of new fluid back in through the tranny dipstick. Then 'flush' the rest of the fluid using the cooler hose at the radiator - 2 quarts at a time or until it looks pink again. Total ATF used is 10-12 quarts.

The PNP switch is at the engine end of the shifter cable, below the air cleaner and battery tray. It tells the TCM(transmission control module) what gears to use. It also turns on the back up lights when in reverse.
