190 hp base 5-cyl? ALL

while at the dealer's yesterday to pick up a new starter motor, I could not help but notice a "base" S60 non-turbo listed as having 190 HP. The dealer told me it is essentially the same motor as in my 94 855M. Anyone know how Volvo got another 22-28 hp out of the base 5-cyl 2.4 l motor? I looked carefully at the sticker and saw no mention of a LPT or turbo of any kind. Would love to make some mod's to my old trusty!
