Warped rotors Tranny noise S70 1998

Hi,

I've got two questions, here they go!

I finally got a dealership to diagnose my rotors as warped (my car has 36000 mi and they are no longer covered under the base warranty). I have a couple questions about this one.

First of all, the car has had this problem since I bought it as a certified used vehicle, but the dlshp. I went to initially denied any problems... should I be able to get this repair for free?

Then, if not, and if it's not covered under my extended warranty (I have to check that this evening), should I just go with IPD slotted rotors instead of the $700 the dlshp. wants for the new vanilla Volvo ones?

My other problem is, the gearbox (manual) makes a clacking noise when at idle... if I depress the clutch pedal, it goes away. This also seems to correlate to a decent amount of "play" when driving in gear... i.e., if I let off the accelerator, there's a kind of snapping action as the car transitions from engine power to engine braking. I haven't noticed this in other manual trannies I've driven. I believe it had this problem when I purchased it as well... it took a drive from San Diego to Tucson to figure it all out. Any ideas?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
