The most cost effective thing to do is sell it and buy a

turbo model. Note the GLTs have a turbo engine

starting in 97 and those are pretty quick, too.

Swapping the engine would be pretty expensive by the time

you add the intercooler, ECUs, plumbing and all those

check valves they hang all over the place (I have a 95 GLT

and 98 T5 and opening the two hoods shows more differences

then you might expect).
