some early 1999 models (S80s) had that "problem" but theirs was persistent and warm air never returned until we performed a software download to correct it.

My own car does the same thing when I usually set it at 72 degrees (my most preferred setting) and it usually lasts for a few minutes but it is never "icy" cold air. I usually, then, turn the temp up to 78 or 80 degrees and when it gets too warm I turn it back to 72 and lukewarm air keeps coming out. I have witnessed that on other V70s and S80s (not on S60s, yet, but these cars are still "new" to me)....I don't think it is a problem mainly because I have not heard any complaints from ANY owner of those two models and also because it is something that I have experienced for the last 2-3 years now.
