Stop neutral software no longer available V70-XC70 2001

I find that hard to believe, particularly since Volvo knows that the stop neutral was playing a role in the early demise of these transmissions. I had my 2000 V70 updated a few months ago, and I'm certain mine doesn't have the stop neutral function (it didn't when I got it 2 years ago though).

I think the test is to see if the car rolls backward on a steep incline in drive. If it rolls backward you have the stop neutral function enabled.

Any trouble with shift flares between 2-3 and 3-4? Have you done the B4 servo cover update? I noticed an immediate improvement in mine with a fluid dump and fill with Mobil 1 JWS 3309 compatible fluid.

Call another dealer service department and ask them about the software update and report back!
