New Manifold - EGR fitting at Wrong Angle (Pic) 850 1994

I got my new manifold yesterday, very nice stainless steel, excellent welds all around, all holes and gaskets align. I just came in from pulling the old manifold and installing the new. The last part to be hooked up is the EGR pipe. So imagine my horror when I realize that the fitting is tilted about 40 degree backwards - instead of parallel to the line of the engine.

Is this thing plain wrong, or (like a few other things) is there another style of EGR pipe.

Pulling and returning this thing is not an ideal option. Is there a way to safely modify the EGR pipe? Maybe an angled plumbing fitting? to fix the direction?

This was the last thing to do before putting the car on the road and I'm pretty fried at this point.
