Airbag message V70-XC70 2004

Took out the electronic climate control unit to dust it off. After reinstalling it two things had changed:
- the STC (traction control?) button in the lower-left of the ECC stays lit continuously, even if pushed
- there is a message stating "SRS-Airbag service urgent"

Are these two conditions a result of my fooling with the ECC?
How can I determine if the airbag message is "true", ie. service is required?
Can I somehow reset this situation?
