XC70 winter tires V70-XC70 2000

Yes, i know its a little off season, but I recently got this car and it needs a set of tires, so I'm contemplating getting a set of Nokian WRG2.s all around WE generally only get a few snow storms a year here, but they usually start out with a nasty ice base . Weve been running the studded nokians on the RWD 940and 960s for a number of years with great results, and ran the studless hakk Qs on a 240 wagon before that and had little trouble at all ( we were still the only thing able to get around )
question is on these AWD models, I was wondering if the extra traction fromthe AWD setup would be good enough to be able to run a set of the WRG2s year round with as little winter stuff as we get, or should I bite the bullet and get studleess hakka Rs or go all the way with studs still
Thanks----Robert
