What is the best way to do searches?

When I search and get several pages of results, I notice that the search function returns me to the first page when I go back from a post on any other page. That is, if I open and read a post on page 5 then go back, it takes me to page 1. This is not a big deal, but I don't always remember what page I was on and it takes a little looking to find where I was. I know I can right click on a post and open it another tab, but I don't always remember to do that. Am I missing something?
