Axle seal and manual 5 speed tranny oil. S70 1998

I have a leaky seal on the right side drive axle. It's been leaking slowly for years and now it's really leaking pretty good. I am replacing the wheel hub (noisy bearing) and bought a replacement seal to install at the time of hub replacement. Is there any trickery involved in pulling the seal and installing a new one? I just got done replacing left side axle (CV boot torn) and tried pulling that seal out, but it did not want to go easily, so I left it alone since it did not leak. Now that the other one is leaking I need to replace it, but wonder if I just pry it out or is there another way?

Also, how do I measure the oil level in my 5 speed manual gearbox? And in case I need to add oil there, what oil to add? Special Volvo manual transmission oil from a dealer or is there some generic stuff that will do?

Thanks! My hub should be here today and I will do this tomorrow, most likely.
