car won't turn over 850 1996

Well I had two mechanics come over this morning and try a few things out. From there indications I did everything right, but something internally just is not correct. Looks like the motor has to be opened up and will probably need to replace a piston and or valve.

I'm getting tired of throwing money into it now. Since Feb 2012.
I've thrown about $3200 in parts into with me doing majority of the labor.

Still needs new brakes, rotors, caliper and lines.
Still needs new front struts and mounts.
Still needs new rear shocks, mounts, springs.
Still needs another set of tires for it.

ugh!

Any other thoughts from anyone!
