Overheating Fan Relay 850 1996

relay and fan are fine. both brand new and grounding the relay verified switching. terminal all virgin and greased with CRC. It has been 100+ here in DC and after a hot soak on the hwy, the front engine area espec over the radiator gets extremely hot, including the relay. Dash thermo reads 110F ambient after parking lately. So, back to your ignition module idea... I had never considered that. In fact I have never looked at a Volvo ign module in 30 yrs of owning them. Will give that a look. Today the temps dropped to mid 80s and everything worked great, so I am still leaning towards the temp extremes as getting the relay too hot. may try and icepack to do a quick cooldown next.
