Re: Catalytic converter cleaning? 850 1994

Nothing you can do to the catayltic converter, but the good news is there is more than likely nothing wrong with the converter. Replace the O2 sensor, clear your codes, and then drive the car. Very often when O2 sensor codes are set, other codes relating to the cataylic converter are set, the O2 sensor is not working correctly (first code set) then the Catayltic converter (ususally the rear O2 sensor determines this) says things are not working correctly, the converter should have burned up more hydrocarbons than the rear sensor detected, so a code is set for the cat. The real cause being the front O2 sensor started the whole problem rolling, however ignoring the front sensor code long enough will cause problems.
