Battery Drained of "juice" S80 2000

I haven't seen it posted recently--but we just left the car at the local service station for replacing a 17" Aluminum wheel-- that a pothole bent(ouch, $475 to replace!)And, the service station guy left the key in the ignition after he finished replacing the wheel.

Well, that's a NO NO with this car! By the time I picked the car up the battery was nearly dead. I ran the "search" on here and found one post a while back on this.

Does anyone know if there is a "fix" for this from Volvo? Obviously, I will make sure I tell these guys not to leave the key in the ignition!

Now, my 2001 XC--which is my car--I can do this with no problem. So, is this just a model year 2000 snafu??
