Trip Meter Resetting to 0 using key fob. V70-XC70

I have a 2002 XC with 87000 miles. Recently I have noticed that when I lock/unlock the doors using the key fob my trip meter changes back to 0. I reset the meter when I gas up. Last week it showed 223 miles on the meter and when I got out of the car I locked it using the key fob. When I got back in the meter had reset to 0. This is really annoying and I have no idea what is causing this problem. Any thoughts? Thanks.
