Gas Tank Concern 850 1995

I have a 1995 Volvo 850 GLT that I bought used in 1996. Love my 850!!! I was detailing the car yesterday, and decided to clean out the trunk area (so big in there I almost had a picnic!) When I removed the carpeting I notice a self-tapping screw in the middle of the trunk. I decided to remove the screw and found it was drilled into the gas tank!! Looks like some idiot car stereo installation idiot tried to ground an amplifier to it!!

The screw is NOT being used as a ground!

My question is ... Is this safe? Should I remove the tank?? I do not smell gas with the screw in place but am concerned that if the tank rattles at all, the screw may cause a spark... Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
