I did it, so you can too!!
Remove the carpet, one side at a time. You need to loosen the 2 rear bolts on the front seat (do not remove them) and then remove the front 2 bolts so you can lift the seat up and get the carpet out of the way. Put the 2 bolts back in and tighten up all 4 bolts.
The driver's side has a plastic foot rest holding the carpet in, pull it down and lift up - not easy but with a little (lot) of effort it comes out. The bottom door trim lifts up.
I used a bath tub, with a flexible shower nozzle. The back of the tub was perfect support for the front of the carpet - besides, it was winter time.
I also washed it with Simple Green as there were grease spots. A large bristle brush provided perfect scrubbing. As it is summer, you could hose it down outside being careful not to crease the sides - so do not fill it up with heavy water.
I would let it dry in a nice warm area for a few days, it will be dry enough in one day, but why press it? Inside the garage overnight.
Put a mat down over the rubber floor insulation if you are going to drive.
Check the foam under the rubber, if it is wet then use newspaper to help absorb water. Take out one of the center black kick panels and check the heater core and AC drain while the carpet is dry.
