Cable from battery positive to starter 850 1995

Was told by my indie mechanic that the cable from the battery positive to the starter is where my voltage drop problem is occurring and that I need to purchase a new one for my 1995 855 non-turbo.

Anyone know if this cable HAS to come from the dealer? Autozone said they have one and it's a 2-gauge, 56" long wire for $18. Would that suffice? Is it just a single wire?
