'01 S60 A/C Quits when temp >100F S60 2001

Twice now the a/c in my '01 S60 has quit when the outside temp has exceeded 100F. It ran fine for about 2 hours, then quit. After sitting in the shade for an hour with the engine off, the a/c worked again for the trip home (about 45 min.) I've done the bread-clip repair on the a/c clutch about 2 years ago and they all seem to be still in place. Any ideas on how to keep this from happening?
