water pump gasket

In the middle of timing belt/water pump job. So far the hardest part is that the WP gasket came out of the box a little bent so it wont sit flat on the locating pins on the block. I am afraid that when i place the pump, I am going to shift the gasket.

Any tricks, like a little glue/cement on the pump and put on the pump first?
