96 850 GLT OEM Upper Torque Bushing Installation 850 1996

I'm planning on installing a new OEM bushing this weekend. I have the new bushing.

I was going to cut/hacksaw out the old bushing.

To install the new one, I have a stack of of large grade 8 washers, 7/8", 5/8", 1/2" that I tack welded together for the pressing of the bushing. On the opposite side of the bracket, I have an ABS coupling, and a piece of 1/4 x 3 x 3 Aluminum, drilled in the center for a 3/8 threaded rod. Using the rod, I was going to drive it in.

I experimented with freezing the bushing and compared the dimensions at room temperature, and maybe its slightly less, fractions of a millimeter. The bushing measures approx 60mm.

Any tips on installation?

Does a lubricant help? i was thinking a dry lube like graphite, vs WD 40.

Should the arrow on the bushing point up on the driver side?
