Thunk heard from front when going up incline but never when going downhill 850 1996

Whenever I start up an incline or sometimes start from stop on level surface once the car starts moving; About a second or less later I hear a thunk coming from the front of the car. It does not happen if I go down an incline. I need to do some more driving (forwards and reverse) to determine if it is consistent. No issues or vibration when I am already in motion.
