I'm surprised. I thought the manual trans. in my 87 745T M was great. I had a minor problem of grinding going into reverse at one time (thrust bearing?), but the repair bill was only something like $400 Cdn. Clutch was replaced (normally expected, tho expensive service) at about 150,000km.

Was the 87 an improvement over the 86, or did you just manage to get 4 transmissions all built on a Fri afternoon?
