XC70 V70-XC70

That all depends on your level of mechanical skills and the maintenance history of the car. Obviously, ignore the 2001 models due to new model teething pains and the 5 speed automatic.

The AWD cars, 1998-2002, have known problems with the transfer box/bevel gear that delivers power to the rear wheels. The bevel gear fluid will not last over 100K miles and does need flushing, as does the tranny fluid. The tires must be the same on all 4 wheels, and rotated with every oil change.

Make sure ALL of the electrical features work properly before you buy.
