Re: Seat memory function V70-XC70 2001

Steve,

As per V70 manual (as far as I remember it) the seat position memory has nothing to do with a _key_ but has to do with _remote opener_ - trinket.

Besides buttons on the seat (which didn't bother you in this case,

did they ? ;-) ) the only "seat memory feature" enabled is described

like this: "If you unlock the car with the _remote_ (#1), the driver seat

(and side mirrors ?) will move themselves to the position they were at

last time you lock the car with this particular remote#1."

Since remotes (their frequencies) are distinct, this feature is very

helpful when more than one person driving same car. If not - it could

be disabled at dealership via reprogramming.

Closing but not locking the car (or locking it manually or anyhow else

but not via remote) is not supposed to have any effect on

seat position memory.

The keys are also supposed to be distinct frequencywise, but this is

rather for immobiliser programming.

To all : correct me if I'm wrong... I'm not 100% sure.

In my case it works exactly this way. ;-)

Yours,

Andrey M. V70/T5/01
