You will need someone with a Volvo scanner to find and reset the error for the SRS. Generic scanners will not do this.

If the lift gate light does not go out when you force the latch to close, then I suggest getting a 'new' latch from the junk yard. The $ealer wants too much for a new one. Be careful removing the rods from the latch mechanism, the plastic used to hold the rods in place break easily.

It is probably time to get new lift gate struts. The constant slamming is what breaks the switch.

The latch adjustment are the two T40 screws in the top of the bumper. Do not reposition them more than 1/16 inch at a time.
