Drop in Oil pressure in 850 engine 850 1995

Recently bought a 1995 850 non turbo, 68K miles wagon that was having oil pressure problems.

First thing we did was drop the oil pan to notice the previous owner had not done a good job in maintaining the cars oil, sludge build up and oil pump clogged. Everthing was checked and cleaned and put back together. The engine has excellent oil pressure and runs great now.

Outside of changing the oil is there anything else that could have caused the buildup inside the oil pan?

Is there anything else I should check on this engine prior to taking it on a long trip?

I recently posted that the Tracs light, the ABS light and the chk engine light was also on on the cluster. Could the items above contributed to this light issue? And if so what else should I be concerned about once I figure how to shut those lights out?

Thanks

ddv
