Call Safelite - when I had the windshield replaced on our '12 XC70, they took the VIN and then told me that they had to use a OEM part.

They should be able to tell you if that is the case for your car.

I don't know what they did, but the car had a perfect inspection sticker on it when I picked it up - and the shop was in another state!
