I punctured my CV boot while battling with a strut S80 2005

You might try greasing the CV joint through the cut. I forget what the needle shaped gizmo is called, but it goes on the end of your grease gun and is used for greasing 240 door hinges. Fill the boot with grease. Seal the cut with a little RTV.

I think the issue with most ripped boots is that they let water and grit in and that ruins the bearings.

When most drive axles come out of a FWD transmission they leak oil. Put a cork in the seal while you are changing the boot.
