Thoughts on 2000 V70XC SE 850

We owned a 2000 V70 xc. Ran it on unleaded 87 gas for entire time of ownership, no problem. Because of the bevel gear tire circumference must be kept very close to one another. It sometimes means buying 4 tires even when 3 look decent. We broke the bevel gear because my wife put the space saver on and drove it from Bellingham to Vancouver, BC. Space saver should only be used to find a tire shop. Timing belt is 105K. Ensure that's been done along with tensioner. Was happy with performance of AWD. I liked the 2000 which had the fly by wire deal and VVT. Throttle went south right after we bought it and was fine after the warranty fix. Others don't like the 99's and 00's but I do. One man's opinion.
