Doing brakes soon S60 2007

Just replace the pads and rotors. Use plenty of brake cleaner on the rotors and face of the pads. A mechanic told me to clean the rear of the rotor first, put the rotor on the car, and then clean the outside surface. I also put a thin coat of brake grease where the rotor touches the axle.

Cleaning and re-greasing the slide pins is not a lot of work. Use silicon brake grease. The brake fluid should be flushed every 2 years, regardless. Get a power bleeder and pump it up to 10-15 psi.

Pushing the caliper pistons back is not difficult.

If the brake lines are not cracking, I wouldn't bother changing them. The SS lines look nice until they start to rust from the salt.
