Long time no post! Advice needed on 99 S70 engine..... S70 1999

Before you mate the engine/tranny, remove the flywheel and replace the $30 rear main seal.

I would never mess with the tranny, there just isn't enough documentation for us shade tree guys to put it back together again. Dumping the ATF from the pan is no big deal, so long as you fill the sump with new, plus an extra quart, before starting the engine. Check the level again after engine start to see how low it is.
