Noise after cold start.. 850 1996

I have a 850 Turbo and have the following problem -

I hear a noise when the engine is started from cold and I start

driving without for the engine to warm up. The noise comes only when I

step on the gas (kind of like a grinding noise) and I don't hear it anymore

after about 5 minutes of driving. I think it comes from the turbocharger.

So now I let the engine run for about 3-4 minutes after I start the engine first thing in the morning which should be enough time for all the moving parts to be lubed. When I do this I do not hear the noise.

Is the noise normal when the car is driven from a cold start. By not

waiting long enough for the parts to be lubed before driving is there

a danger of damaging parts like the turbo-charger ? Any opinions on this

are welcome.
