Winter mode should only be used if both front wheels are spinning on ice. W mode puts the tranny in 3rd gear and lots of slipping torque converter. If you ever get in a jam like that, put it in reverse and drive somewhere else.

I used "S" around town and "E" on the highway to prevent premature kickdown on hills.
