S70 AC not working, S70

I've searched the forums (some please point me to the answer if this has already been answered) 2000 S70 AC clutch does not engage when the AC is turned on. The cooling fan also does not turn on with the AC (I believe that it should). The cooling fan will turn on if I let the car idle on a hot day.

Is this a common problem with a known fix?
