issue with alarm and keys S70 1998

about a year ago had to replace the ignition cylinder. Picked it up from Erie.

Consequently had two keys. one to open door one to start car.

That was fine went the remote was working. The issue is the remote is not working at all (yes replaced batteries). So if I open the car with one key and try to start the car the alarm goes off and disables starting

Any thoughts. Madness
