New radiator, how to start transmission fill? V70-XC70

Had front end wreck that did minimal damage but did take out the radiator. New radiator and not sure how to start new with fluid level.
Should I try both hoses connected and fill through dip stick hole to cold level slowly and do the reverse/forward/neutral. Check again when its about right then check when hot?
Have done the change process pumping out and adding but this is new. Don't want to blow seals of damage solenoids.
Have 1 case of 3309.
