New shocks S70 1998

Good day to all.
I think I may be in need of some new front shock absorbers as the front end is
now making a creaking sound whenever I rise from the driver's seat and exit the vehicle.
The car has 138k miles on it and i am not sure if the shocks are the original ones or not.
Anyway can anyone recommend a reasonably priced shock that would give a normal ride? My car is a daily driver, no sportiness about the base model. Just want a normal, comfortable ride.
